Honeyed eloquence slathers the bread of betrayal he tries to feed us. He is a handsome, charismatic politico who is an alluring speaker with every word chiseled for effect. He is mesmerizing. But he is being highly scrutinized, largely at the moment for questionable associates. One such is his pastor of twenty years, Jeremiah Wright, who married him and his wife and baptized his daughters. This radical recent retiree from a large church screams from the pulpit, "God Damn America." He claimed vehemently that the Bible says so. That is untrue at least in the King James version, unless he has a special edition for hate-filled bigots. This "religious leader" spouts "filthy communication". He even pantomimes Clinton's sexual escapades calling it "dirty sex," and indicating that is what is being done to the people, you know, the "f" word. Obama intimates that bawdy humor happens in his church. (Well, not in any I have attended). This Wright says that on 9/11 America's chickens have come home to roost. The ugliness of his remarks are revolting. I would have and have left churches for much smaller breaches of ethics. Obama has put a pretty face on it, but underneath the mask is horror. He makes
me cringe.
Imagine our country presided over by a man who still embraces and excuses ideas tantamount to treason. That's not love he's preaching. That so-called pastor is not representing my God, or the God of any of my associates. And make no mistake, this is not about race. It is about power, pure and simple. And furthermore, Obama makes out that hatred is O.K. if you create the aura of historical indebtedness. Yet his history is inaccurate. There were, in fact, fewer slaves imported to North America than to South America, by the hundreds of thousands. Even so, the ultra liberal prefers Castro and others. Although it was despicable trade by unscrupulous men, it was not us. Neither I nor you were there to practice this deed. Nor should we be held accountable for the misdeeds of past generations. We have done much to atone, nonetheless. Look at affirmative action, for example. And, furthermore, T.D. Jakes, a man of greater eloquence and a real preacher teaches the love of Jesus, points out that as tragic as it was, many would be otherwise still being chased by tigers.
America's original sin, as he said, was not slavery but believing the lies of despots who sold them lies for their own benefit. These despots cover themselves with the most callous of deceit. Remember, there was one in the early days, a man with brown hair and brown eyes who convinced a nation with his fiery speeches that his country was a master race, a race of supermen, blond haired and blue eyed patriots. Nauseating. Yet America has met this tirade of smooth oratory with explosions of applause meant to encourage them to goose step to the polls. Sinister, or for good, the future comes at us one day at a time.
Sometimes fear can be a form of self-preservation. We need to look deeply past the facade. Who is this man? He claims allegiance to both the black and the white races because of his lineage, but most of these haters are as light as latte. Farakahn, one of the biggest hate-mongers on the face of this planet is esteemed by Obama and his personal adviser, "Pastor" Wright. In fact, they are friends.. They preach a doctrine of rage and havoc. America is supposed to be ashamed? Of what? Educating, nurturing, providing housing and food for the underprivileged? For feeding countries, teaching them, giving them medical supplies? But they preach disenfranchisement in the richest country of all. Their anger incites violence. In my lifetime I have seen race riots in the streets of my home town, housing projects turned to slums and schools draped in concertina wire.
We do not condone slavery, injustice nor encourage revenge. How dare this man state that slavery is a stain on the Declaration of Independence. What would they consider adequate reparation... concentration camps for all races who are not black? Is this the new American Dream...to take over America and to destroy her? Parse this: a racial divide can not be bridged by girders of gossamer speech making. Talk is truly cheap. Obama says that he can not "disown" Wright. Then he embraces the wrong. But there will be a day of reckoning. Drums of war are driven by the boom of the drums of hatred. Who wants four or eight years of war in the streets? Bloodshed. Even our prisons are rife with the war between Black against Latinos.These are critical times. His call for unity is disingenuous. These are war-cries. And, he said he did know that his leader was spewing incendiary remarks. How can they hate peoples who are part of them? The more they intermarry, the more they extinguish the color of which they proclaim is so important to them?
These are divisive, highly inflammatory idealogues. They are fierce critics of the American Way. Obama knows the condemnations, how could he not know? Do you know any pastor, priest, or rabbi who talks this way in your church? He did not break with Wright. This is not about race, it is about corruption, hatred and national blame. He's no Martin Luther King,; I have studied Martin Luther King. Are we stupid? I pray not. Through the eyes of each of our souls, we must decide. He has not come to make peace but to declare a race war, lash the furor, building the case that America is bigoted, war mongering...and doomed. No matter who comes to office, there will be change. Is this the kind that we have bargained for?
Some of Wright's rhetoric is just plain ridiculous. He said that his god knows what it is to be a "poor black boy." How? My Jesus was born a Jew. Wright encourages Jihad of the militant Muslims, he is anti-Israeli, seeking restitution for the Palestinians, the terrorists. He conveniently forgets that while we were at the peace talk table with Japan, they attacked at Pearl Harbor. Now they are our ally and we helped them rebuild. And America has spent more to quell HIV than anyone. And we intervened to bring about resolution in South Africa. I doubt sincerely that this is the message of the Black Church in America. I am not Black, but I know Blacks who are kind, loving human beings who would wince and shudder at those indictements as I do. But in Wright's church of 8,000 foments a dark dream of retaliation. Crying, "Fire!" in a public place with no concern for who would be crushed or killed.
America has worked hard to close the divide of racism. These are false accusations, couched in the most caustic of terms which undermines this great nation. Our freedom is imperiled from without and within. Let us build prosperity, unity and strength on the bedrock of integrity and truth, not on the ooze of pretty words and pandering. Look fascism square in the face and do not blink. Protect our beleaguered America. She is under siege. Long live America, the home of the brave and the land of the free. We are one nation under God, with liberty and justice for all. Let our voices ring in victory, in true democracy, not the shards of a shattered dream. Martin Luther King had a dream and it is the American dream with equality for all. We are on the cusp of a new dawn...will it be the death of democracy?...God forbid.
For the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God. James 1:19-20

The real beauty of freedom of speech, is that when some numbskull spews his ignorant gobblygook all over the place, other more intellectually inclined individuals have the opportunity to issue the requisit oratory reprimand.
I for one would like to add an Amen to your post.
Yes you said it very well.
I am so happy that this has gotten out, I have known about it over a year now. It has frustrated me that Obama was being given such a free ride. I have had more than a few people think me a liar over this.
He looks good in a picture... a lot like Kennedy's youthfulness. Most voters don't really listen to the words, and very few actually analyze them for what is really meant, whether or not there is truth, or if this person is just a good talker and poor example. I don't really follow candidates until after we are (for sure) down to two... but I think that this man has an excellent chance of getting elected... if for no other reason than he looks good and most voters don't listen anyway. Apathy is killing America.
I just talked to a fellow yesterday... he is usually a hardcore conservative. Not this time...he expects to vote for Obama... because he thinks the Republican candidate's physical appearance looks like "an old fuddy duddy".
Apathy. Pure apathy.
You make excellent points, but I like the way Obama distanced himself without abandoning the loud-mouth.
I can't argue with your scripture! Excellent.
I don't know if it is white guilt or not, but I'm apt to give the loudmouth "pastor" some leeway. My (step) sons' father remembers having to drink out of a separate fountain and he's just a year or two older than me. I really can't imagine what being required to drink from a "colored" fountain would do to my perception of white people.
I'm with you, though, that it doesn't excuse hate speech of any kind.
Wow. I'm all over the place.
Thanks for posting this. You write 'angry' as beautifully as you write anything else. Keep up the good work.
"Out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks".
more and more as years go by, elections have become a popularity contest...sort of like voting for the homecoming king in highshchool....looks and a good talker win the day too often
Great Post, I will have to do more research, but what you said scares me about wright & obama
Thanks for the info
I don't have a problem with Obama. I think he's handled the situation rather well. And last I checked, he was still ahead of the Clinton Brothers in every poll.
@judas_is_rising - Nope, check this out: Clinton Takes National Lead Over Obama. Oh, and I meant to get back with you about my IM'ing...I have my IM ID's listed on my Xanga, in my profile I think, but I don't get on unless someone requests it. Those programs and my computer seem to not get along at the moment for some reason, and I haven't gotten to the bottom of the problem.
@CynaraJane -
Ahh, thanks. I hadn't seen that article. And of course, you can feel free to IM me anytime.
I don't see a "recommend" button on this post or I would push it.
@GailThePainterly - It's right above where the comments start.
@CynaraJane - Thank you....I found it.
Don't know if you have him in your local paper or not, but we get Thomas Sowell (Creator' Syndicate) in our newspaper. Today's column is very much in agreement with your posting. "Sen. Obama has been at his best as an icon, able with his command of words to meet other people's psychic needs . . . but president of the United States, in a time of national danger, under a looming threat of nuclear terrorism? No." This is a black, conservative columnist. As for referring readers to you, you are a voice of reason and I'm glad to read you AND refer to you. Blessed Resurrection Day, sister.
